Art museums open up again almost everywhere on the French Riviera. This year is an unprecedented opportunity to take full advantage of them, given the decline in tourism from non-European countries. (The economic aspects of this is another story.) In Antibes you will find the picturesque Picasso museum, housed in the Grimaldi castle in the old town. The artist first installed his workshop here in 1946 and the castle, bought by the city of Antibes in the 1920s, later became the Picasso museum in 1966. In addition to his works there are also exhibited art works by Nicolas de Staël, Fernand Léger and Hans Hartung. Well worth a visit!
